The Art of Condensation III - Intro
As my exploration of condensation as an art medium continued further still, I began to focus more on the water droplets themselves. In the earlier works (see The Art of Condensation I and The Art of Condensation II) the surface of a piece of glass was altered to produce a hidden image revealed only when condensation forms. Now I became interested in zooming in to see the texture and geometry behind the image. In a sense I was finally looking at what I was actually doing.
By allowing the condensation to accumulate for a longer period, and then scanning at a very high resolution, the individual droplets are clearly revealed, and the work becomes an extensive surreal landscape that can only be viewed a small portion at a time.
Visit Water Garden to explore one such landscape formed entirely of water condensation. Click, touch or mouseover the image to change the motion.
